A note from Michelle...
I want to say thank you for being here with me. Last month's newsletter was hard to write because it's hard to open up and be vulnerable at times. For those who checked on me, thank you. I love each and every one of you!
I'm feeling a lot better, though not exactly perfect. (What is perfect, anyway?) I still have my days, but overall they've been better. I'd like to ask for your continued prayers.
On a better note, we visited a local fair last month, which was a lot of fun. The night we went was Spirit FM night, and Rhett Walker was there singing. He was really good! There were a lot of rides and games, but my favorite was the Pompeyo Amazing Dog and Magic show. Apparently, they were semifinalists on America's Got Talent. The dogs were so talented, and the guys running the show were so funny! If they're ever at an event near you, I'd recommend going to see them. I'm sure you'd love it.

On the Blog
I'm mixing things up on my blog by doing themes every month. September's theme was all about branding for authors and writers. Branding is more than a logo, a tagline, and consistent colors (although they're very important!). It’s the feeling readers get when they pick up your book, scroll through your website, or see your posts on social media. It’s the tone of your writing, the themes you return to, and the promise you make every time someone picks up your work.
Branding also creates consistency across your books, social media, and website, which builds trust with readers and indicates professionalism. When readers know what to expect from you, they’re more likely to return for your next book and recommend your work to others.

Dianne wants to know what would convince you to buy a nonfiction audiobook. Take a minute to answer her poll. My answer: narrated by the author. I find it hard to listen to audiobooks, but if I know the author narrated it, I'm more likely to listen. It gives it a more personal feel. What about you?

In the News
I'm working on a project that will feature authors in my newsletters starting in January of next year. I'm currently gathering a list of people who would like to be featured. If you would like to be featured, please fill out one of the forms below. There will be a short interview with a link to your website (if you have one) and social media links, along with a headshot you'd like to use. I'd love to feature you! (If you know any authors who would love to be featured, please forward this newsletter to them, or just send me an email and let me know.)
